Job overview
Are you enthusiastic and passionate about infant feeding? We are seeking a dedicated midwife to join our infant feeding team at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital for one-year fixed term. This opportunity will enable you to enhance your professional skills within a specialist role, focusing on audit, patient information development, and quality improvement projects.
Main duties of the job
· Collaborate with Infant Feeding Leads to implement and evaluate Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards, ensuring Imperial’s accreditation is maintained.
· Provide support to patients and staff with clinical challenges related to infant feeding, including reviewing and developing feeding plans for inpatients.
· Monitor and audit the effectiveness of BFI standards through staff and patient audits.

Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- First degree in midwifery or relevant alternative.
- Evidence of post registration education activity
- Mentorship course and ‘sign off’ mentor
Desirable criteria
- IBLC Lactation Consultant Course
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant current clinical experience.
- Experience of teaching in a variety of settings.
- Experience in change management
Desirable criteria
- Previous recruitment experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Expertise in breastfeeding, including experience of supporting mothers in the relevant area to engender respect from all levels of staff.
- Excellent Communication skills
- Training, presentation, facilitation and mentoring skills.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
