Job overview
Are you an enthusiastic midwife who enjoys offering a high standard antenatal care to women/pregnant people? If you enjoy risk assessing, public health promotion and a work variety then this might be the role for you! You will have the opportunity to work in partnership with the obstetrician, the pregnant person and other multi-displinary teams. The role is core within the services of the outpatient department, which will include working within the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Day Assessment Unit and Maternity Helpline.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with obstetricians, the pregnant person and other multidisciplinary teams. This multidisciplinary approach ensures comprehensive care, addressing each woman's physical, social, and emotional complexities.

We are a large inclusive team of maternity staff working across St Mary’s Hospital, Queen Charlottes & Chelsea Hospital and the across the community. We work with a vast caseload of patients including high-risk and complicated pregnancies, offer rotational positions and have exposure to innovative resources and developments within maternity. Main duties of the job

Actively promoting and encouraging a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging support for women as required.

Liaising with the multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe care of women/birthing people and their families.

Practise in line with clinical governance and risk assessment. - Undertake clinical assessment of maternal and fetal wellbeing over the telephone and in person.

Work in a fast-paced environment, making clinical decisions.

Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- BSc in Midwifery
- 2 years as practising
- Champion for midwifery led care
Desirable criteria
- Counselling Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Completed 1 year post registration clinical experience working as an RM in the UK
- Completed preceptorship course if applicable
- Experience of working in all clinical settings
- Ability to deal with difficult situations/people and reduce conflict
Desirable criteria
- Able to demonstrate conducting annual appraisals
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
Essential criteria
- The ability to be flexible
- Excellent clinical decision making skills
- Willing to work in all areas of maternity
