The North West London ICB is looking to establish a clinical effectiveness programme which will embed a systematic approach to quality improvement across North West London (NWL), to help to improve health outcomes for local residents across the entire Integrated Care System (ICS). Reporting to the Senior Information Manager for the North West London (NWL) Clinical Effectiveness (CE) Programme and to the Head of Analytics, and working closely with CE Clinical leads, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation and delivery of the clinical effectiveness programme’s data reporting function.
Main duties of the job
The overarching objectives for delivering accessible and robust data and information, are to support:
1) prioritisation and stratifying quality improvement support to primary care
2) engagement and empowerment of practices and their PCN representatives to deliver high quality care
3) evaluation and on-going improvement of the clinical effectiveness programme
4) The operating model will be underpinned by local and NWL-level clinical leadership while allowing for local ownership and shared economies of scale; working flexibly to deliver ICS and local priorities.
The main purpose of the Senior Information Analyst is to lead the implementation of advanced information management systems and advanced data analytics, methodologies for actionable insights, fostering a data-driven culture among the team. The post holder will have to develop quality outputs and support data improvement programmes.
We are looking for someone with hands-on skills that has experience of working with clinicians and providing clinical and transformation analytics which can help improve patient pathways through quality improvement approaches.

NHS North West London Integrated Care Board (NHS NWL ICB) is a statutory body responsible for planning and allocating health and care resources to improve the lives of people in eight boroughs across North West London: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

Knowledge training and experience
Essential criteria
- Requires in depth knowledge and understanding of NHS information
- Excellent knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of information governance processes
- Ability to write SQL and VBA to extract data from database and produce analytics as required by stakeholder
- Ability to scope requirements for analytics in discussion with stakeholders
- Ability to highlight key messages and areas of focus from analysis to support stakeholders focus on key issues
- Experience of developing databases, manipulating and interpreting data
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of NHS datasets
- Knowledge and experience of developing and delivering tableau dashboards and BI dashboard
- Experience of undertaking research on enhancing analytics and horizon scanning for new opportunities
- Substantial experience in acting as a lead analyst for a portfolio within a customer focussed organisation
- Excellent understanding of NHS provider flows, data management processes and information systems Ability to generate and communicate clearly complex statistical information to people at all levels in the organisation
- Ability to generate complex analysis like demand and capacity analysis, needs analysis, geo-spatial analysis and regression analysis

- Experience of interpreting guidance and delivering analysis accordingly

- Able to assess and present highly complex facts or situations requiring analysis and/or interpretation, including the comparison of a range of options
- Able to demonstrate skills of judgement in analysing and preparing a business case or other project plan, from the point of view of service-user and carer experience, clinical delivery, organisational, financial, logistical (including workforce) and other issues

- Able to plan and organise broad range of complex activities, requiring stakeholder input and adaptation, and recognition of competing demands and realities of operational delivery
- Able to demonstrate flexibility where necessary in adjusting plans or strategies as circumstances require
Responsibility for Information Management, Analysis and Control
Essential criteria
- Able to assess and manage the information governance and management of Personal Data Requirements
Desirable criteria
- Able to analyse regular clinical activity reports, to specify the information required and to assist with establishing necessary systems to collect new data if required
