Job overview
- The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients.
- You will be involved in a range of research activities including: screening and recruiting patients into clinical trials, conducting follow up appointments with research participants, and collecting patient data in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
- This role involves liaising with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality research, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare.
- The post holder will be the point of contact for participants and health professionals and will be expected to be proactive in educating clinical staff about the clinical trial portfolio.
- The post holder will be required to work autonomously, be adaptable have excellent communication skills, and will be expected to demonstrate an ability to empower patients to make informed decisions regarding their involvement in research.
- Previous research experience is desirable, but not essential. An induction training programme will be offered to the successful candidate alongside support from the senior research midwives to support and develop your research skills.
- St George's Hospital has a number of centres as part of the trust, so any employee may be required to travel from their normal base as part of their role.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife to degree level or equivalent with current NMC pin
- Mentorship or equivalent
- GCP Certificate or willingness to be trained in GCP
Experience

- Ability to prioritise own work load
- Experience in clinical research
- Experience working as a midwife in inpatient and outpatient settings
Desirable criteria
- 2+ years experience as a qualified midwife
