Integrated Discharge Service Administrator

Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Administrator to join our friendly, professional and motivated team in the UCLH Integrated Care Operations (ICO) service.  You will be a valued part of the current administrative workforce, working closely with the various teams within the service and providing a high-quality level of administration service to the Administrative Service Manager, Senior Nurse, Head of Integrated Care Operations and Nurses within the ICO. 

The successful applicant must possess a high level of IT skills and be proficient in the collection, recording and analysis of data. Applicants must also have experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team as this is a responsible and varied post with an important role in providing continuity of the service. Excellent communication skills are a must. 

Main duties of the job

Duties will include the production of daily, weekly and monthly reports to evidence the workings of the team, the maintenance of databases to ensure they are meeting the needs of the service and the reliability of the data, minute taking, diary management of the Senior staff and the provision of support across the service as/when required.

Person specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C or higher in English
  • • NVQ Level 4 in Healthcare, Customer Care of Business Admin or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Further secretarial qualification (e.g. AMSPAR)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Demonstrable knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures at a high level of competence acquired through both training and experience
  • • Proven experience of working in an office environment
  • • Previous NHS or healthcare experience
  • • Evidence of leading a team

Health, Safety and Security

Essential criteria
  • • Able to identify risk issues in immediate working environment and correct where possible or report to manager
  • • Promote an awareness of incident reporting

Communication

Essential criteria
  • • Able to communicate accurately and effectively with patients and colleagues, verbally and in writing
  • • Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
  • • Able to deal with the public in person and on the phone
