Junior Sister/Charge Nurse- Alcohol Liaison Service

Although this position is a 29 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 29 months.
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Nurse to join the new Alcohol Care Team at Newham Hospital. In this role, you will contribute to delivering a comprehensive treatment service for adult patients with alcohol use disorders and dependence.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
- Assess, plan and implement care for alcohol dependent patients with complex needs, escalating necessary adjustments to the appropriate senior members of staff.
- Identify patients at high risk from their alcohol use using the AUDIT assessment and take appropriate action in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions, including motivational interviewing and withdrawal management, to support patients in reducing alcohol-related harm.
- Educate patients and families about healthy lifestyles and managing risks to health and well-being.
- Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation using electronic health records and maintain compliance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Staff already internal to the Trust wishing to do a secondment within the Trust can apply.

- Course undertaken relating to interventions in alcohol misuse

- Non-medical prescribing qualification (e.g. V300)
