An exciting opportunity has risen for a Physiotherapist to join the BHR Falls Team as Falls Specialist Band 7
BHR Falls team provides multi disciplinary care to patients across the Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.
Main duties of the job
The service aim is to assess and treat frail patients in their own homes and clinics and avoid unnecessary hospital admission. service
The therapist will be supported with continuing professional development and will be supported to undertake training in order to competently assess holistically and order equipment that is necessary to keep a patient safe at home allowing them to complete activities of daily living.
The role will require the successful candidate to work as part of multi disciplinary team , by carrying out current evidence based therapy techniques, providing thorough assessments.. The candidate will also need to engage with other MDT members internally and externally.
Support will be given to the successful candidate to apply to attending professional development training, such as NMP and advanced care practitioner courses.
The sucessful candidate will need to have a UK valid driving license and have a car.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735 per annum).

Experience
Essential criteria
- Post Registration experience in relevant core clinical settings: Falls Prevention, Rehabilitation, Care of the elderly, Community
- Falls Champion – Knowledge of Falls prevention/rehabilitation in both hospital and community settings.
- Experience of Assessments and treatment in complex Falls cases in Falls clinics
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in the NHS
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities
- Excellent communication skills including influencing negotiation & empathic skills
- Ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge base and experience and adapt them to the community based setting e.g. Orthopaedics, care of the elderly
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritising own workload
