NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) was formed on 1 July 2022.

We are an exciting new organisation putting the needs of communities at the heart of our commissioning arrangements.

We are working with local people and partners across health, social care and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing for all our communities. Our key priority in the next year will be to develop closer integrated and collaborative ways of working with all our partners to implement our Out of Hospital Strategy.

We can only do this with great staff who are encouraged and supported, which is why we invest in them, listen to them, make sure we are representative of our populations and that we foster their health and wellbeing.

Please note that all vacancies will be subject to a 6 months' probation period in line with the Probation Policy.

Job overview

The North East London Intergrated Care Board (NEL ICB) are recruiting to an exciting role of Clinical and Care Professional Lead for Health Inequalities.

This role is two sessions per week and is open to anyone in a senior clinical and/or care professional role working within the health and care system. The postholder will provide leadership for the ICB work on health inequalities and the NEL Health Equity Aademy (launched November 2023).

Interviews are expected to be held on the 1st August.

The role requires a good understanding of health inequalities and inclusion health, and how the system can improve to reduce health inequalities.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant / substantial experience working in a leadership or managerial capacity, including local connections within and across north east London.
  • Experience of building productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working creatively towards shared goals.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of clinical and/or care professional and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • A good understanding of health inequalities and inclusion health, and how the system can improve to reduce health inequalities.
  • A sound understanding of current NHS issues and partnership working between health and care organisations in particular.
  • Understanding of population-level perspective as well as individual perspective on health services.
  • Demonstrate political awareness, the ability to listen to others, communicate effectively and work in a collaborative way that keeps all partners on board.
