Job overview

The North East London Integrated Care Board (NELICB) is looking for Senior System Co-ordination Centre (SCC) Duty Manager to join our SCC team.

The SCC Duty Manager is the initial decision maker within the NELICB SCC, allocating and prioritising responses, escalations and tasks that respond to system issues and national requirements. Ensuring robust and skilled co-ordination and real-time oversight and leadership of the North East London Integrated Care System (ICS) UEC pathways and interdependent provision.

Main duties of the job

The SCC Duty Manager will work alongside UEC providers and other organisations across the NELICB and North East London Integrated Care System (NELICS) and London region to proactively identify and evaluate operational pressures, respond to escalation, and invoke strategies, processes and provide assurance on risk reduction and de-escalation, to key stakeholders, including ICB directors, ambulance services, NHSE and others.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant masters level qualification or extensive knowledge, skills and experience to equivalent level
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and managerial development including management of change
Desirable criteria
  • Active Clinical registration (GMC/NMC/HCPC)

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Operational experience of working in Pressure Surge management, Urgent Care or within an Acute provider
  • Demonstrates a successful track record of delivering complex programmes within a large health / social care commissioning organisation
  • Experience in taking the lead in performance monitoring and proposing corrective actions to a wide range of parties
  • Experience ensuring all services are in accordance with legislation and good practice
  • Understanding of the current issues impacting on the NHS
  • Extensive experience in managing relationships at all levels

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills to communicate complex, sensitive or contentious information succinctly and in difficult environments in an organised and appropriate manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Significant experience in developing effective working relationships with proven ability to manage conflict resolution and to build relationships; engage, lead and develop others and maintain credibility
  • Experience of managing a team and of coaching and developing individuals
  • Experience in working to improve the performance of others building confidence and providing opportunities for learning and development
  • High level of planning and organisational skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet challenging deadlines, maintaining a positive attitude and solution focused
