Job overview

The post holder will work closely with members of, and provide smooth operational support to, the CLA Health Team and the local authority business support team.  They will be responsible for ensuring all referrals for Children Looked After (CLA), prospective carers and adoptions are appropriately processed in line with statutory guidance and legislation.  The post holder will have good attention to detail and will be highly organised in a busy office environment. They will ensure all data entries to the clinical systems and database are accurate and up to date. 

Main duties of the job

 The post holder will be expected to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of patient data; and to communicate efficiently and respectfully with a variety of people.

The post holder will work as part of the Children Looked After Health Team, under the direction of the Admin Lead & CLA Named Nurse, and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge.

 They will be expected to provide clerical, administrative support to clinicians working in the team. This will include responsibilities such as: efficient referral processing, appointment bookings, data management, secretarial support to clinical staff, uploading and distributing confidential reports.

Education

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths grades A-C
  • Familiarity with SystmOne or similar patient record databases
Desirable criteria
  • Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel or other database application

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within NHS – this is essential in understanding NHS processes
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in LAC setting
