We are looking for an experienced Nurse to join our team for 12 months Maternity Leave Cover at Croydon University Trust.
We are an integrated Sexual Health service and a Level 3 GUM/Family Planning and HIV Service. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We would expect you to have the ability to work and lead effectively amongst a multidisciplinary team across an innovative service. You will also have strong advanced practice skills and knowledge and be committed to your on-going professional development and that of the service at Croydon Integrated Sexual Health Clinic.
As this is a specialist role, it is desirable if you are fully LARC trained or working towards completing your LARC training. The main focus of this role is to be an expert Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health nurse, we do not require you to be HIV trained.

Main duties of the job
To participate in ensuring the daily delivery of Integrated Sexual Health Services as a Sexual Health Practitioner, to supervise junior staff, respond to and address operational issues during the shift.
To liaise with a multi-disciplinary team including clinical and non-clinical staff.
To undertake Practitioner Led Clinical sessions including history taking and physical examinations of patients.
To act as a clinical expert within the Trust, this will involve dissemination of specialist skills and knowledge to others.
Provide direct patient care, providing high quality advice and clinical treatment on all aspects of STIs and sexual health
To work adhering to the patient group directives (PGDs) or to prescribe as an independent prescriber including the prescription of hormonal contraception and STI treatment.
The insertion and removal of implants.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RGN and/or midwife and registration with NMC
- Post registration qualification in contraception, e.g. DFSRH
- GUM qualification or course in STIs e.g. STIF
Desirable criteria
- Prescribing qualification
- BSc degree in nursing and/or midwifery
Knowledge/Understanding
