Principal Pharmacist - Clinical Services & Education and Training Lead (Band 8b)
An exciting opportunity to lead, develop, deliver, evaluate and improve Clinical Services & Education and Training within the department, alongside associated performance / outcomes within the Pharmacy Department at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CHS). The post-holder will provide a co-ordinated, highly effective training service for the pharmacy department and other areas within the Trust.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the Associate Chief Pharmacist (Clinical Services) in managing the clinical pharmacy service to Croydon University Hospital, deputising for them and representing them at local, regional meetings or ICB meetings when necessary. The job will include staff management, education and training, service delivery, service improvement and clinical governance.
The post holder will also be responsible for leading and managing the Education and Training Team to deliver, develop and evaluate a co-ordinated, highly effective training service for the pharmacy department and other areas within the Trust.

Main duties of the job
Management of Lead Directorate Pharmacists and Education and Training Team.
To support and assist the Associate Chief Pharmacist in the development and delivery of the overall strategy for the Pharmacy Department
Support the Associate Chief Pharmacist in the development and delivery of the Pharmacy Clinical Service strategy in line with the Departmental strategy and any associated national or local initiatives.
To provide clear leadership and direction ensuring that the Pharmacy’s Clinical services meets the needs of the pharmacy department, patients, clinicians, other services users, where innovation is encouraged and provided an environment which is attractive to high calibre staff, thus supporting recruitment and retention.
Oversees the training for undergraduate pharmacy students, work experience students, trainee pharmacists and foundation pharmacists, including those undertaking the post-graduate diploma in General Pharmacy Practice, ensuring the pharmacy department maintains registration as an accredited training site by the GPhC, NHS England and UCL School of Pharmacy
