Interventional Radiology Superintendent Radiographer. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 8a Interventional Radiology Superintendent Radiographer to join our friendly and well-supported team. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be experienced in all aspects of Inventional Radiology including specialist knowledge of complex procedures. They will also be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of IR(ME)R along with excellent quality control and assurance knowledge. You will have had previous management experience and have the ability to look after the day-to-day running of a busy department, supporting the operational lead superintendent radiographer with a variety of tasks when necessary.
A requirement of the position is a BSC (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent with recent NHS experience ideally within an acute setting. Our staff also benefit from the inner London high cost area supplement of 20%.

Working for our organisation
Although based at St George’s Hospital, you will also oversee the fluoroscopy department at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton. Our staff are exposed to a wide range of different patients and procedures which gives them valuable experience and scope of practice whilst helping us to deliver the best possible care.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- BSc or DCR in diagnostic radiography or equivalent
- HPCP registered
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development with an up to date CPD portfolio
Desirable criteria
- Advanced clinical practice qualification
- Post graduate qualification in health management
- Qualification in teaching
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 7 years post qualification experience
- Experience of staff supervision
- Experience in the training and development of other staff including students
- Knowledge of Society of Radiographers professional code of conduct
- Experience/ working knowledge of PACS
- Experience of change management/modernisation
Desirable criteria
- Experience of clinical audit
- Experience of managing budgets and understanding budget statements
