Job overview

We are looking for a confident, professional, and enthusiastic Dietetic & Speech Therapy Assistant to join our Team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Our friendly team consists of 13 Dietitians, 8 Speech & Language Therapists, 3 Administrators, a Nutrition Nurse, and a Service Manager. The Dietetic & Speech Therapy Assistant will be based at Hillingdon Hospital and will provide clinical and administrative support to clinical staff. 

 

 

 

Main duties of the job

 

You will need to be highly motivated and able to work flexibly in a busy environment.  You will need good spoken and written English and excellent communication skills.   You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the Hospital and the Catering Department. An awareness of the our role and a caring and empathetic approach are essential.

 

We will offer a supportive working environment with in-house training and supervision to help you develop the relevant skills and knowledge for the post.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The main responsibility of this post is to work under the supervision of qualified Dietitians and Speech & Language Therapists (SLT), to undertake a variety of clinical and non-clinical duties to support the delivery of Dietetic & Speech Therapy Service to patients.

Criteria

Essential criteria
  • General education equivalent to pass at GSCE to include written /spoken English and basic mathematics
  • N.V.Q. Level 3 related to Health & Social care, Diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant experience of working within a healthcare environment such as an NHS acute hospital, NHS community or similar setting
  • Experience of working in a public facing role
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 2: Customer Care
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and an understanding of specific roles and team working
