Job overview

This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals Foundation Trust as the Lead Nurse for Per-Operative Assessment. We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.

We provide acute and specialist services from two sites to a local population of 350,000. Our services include accident and emergency services, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Hillingdon is situated in Northwest London close to Heathrow

Main duties of the job

This post is focused on the safe delivery of evidenced based pre-operative care for our patients undergoing planned elective surgery. 

The post holder will play a key part in shaping the service for the future 

Implementing a digital pre-operative assessment tool

Working collaboratively across the APC

Be invaluable in the day to smooth running of the pre-assessment department

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Essential criteria
  • Evidence of a programme of study in pre-assessment
  • 1 st Level registration
  • Qualification in leadership and Management/or willing to undertake
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Significant post registration experience and experience as a senior nurse in a pre-assessment setting
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduation Qualification or Equivalent
