Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee with an interest in education to develop as a clinical medical educator within the exciting field of simulation. This is a fixed term post, minimum 9 month with scope to extend until August 2026, aimed at those who wish to build on their personal teaching experience to develop expertise in educational theory and practice.

As a general requirement, the post holder will need to work flexibly between 7.30am and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday although required to work between 8am and 5pm as a norm.

Main duties of the job

-To lead the implementation and delivery of simulation courses to a high standard, planning this in collaboration with the Simulation Clinical Lead and the Medical Education Manager and including clinical and technical equipment preparation before and after all sessions. 
-Promote communication to ensure efficient and effective running and use of the clinical skills facility and equipment and attend relevant meetings as and when required.
-Liaise with the other Clinical Skills Co-ordinators, internal and external, as and when necessary to ensure consistency in support provided in programmes and to users.
-Ensure that Trust policies are adhered to i.e. Manual Handling, Safeguarding Children, Infection Control etc.
-Ensure that equipment is used in line with Health and Safety standards and stored in accordance with departmental security requirements.
