Job overview

Waltham Forest are looking for a  Band 4 Senior Administrator to cover maternity leave on a fixed term 12 month contract to support both Waltham Forest Local Authority and Waltham Forest Looked After Children's Team based at Wood Street Health Centre.

Main duties of the job

The ability to communicate effectively is integral to the role as well as being able to prioritise workload in line with service demand. The successful candidate will require excellent administration and organisational skills, attention to detail, work well under pressure and have a good telephone manner.

We are looking for a candidate who is a team player, enthusiastic, flexible and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Essential criteria for the post include:
    NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy or numeracy
  • NVQ Administration/ Customer Service Level 3 or equivalent level of proven experience
  • Ability to update and maintain efficient administrative systems &  support data collection 
  • Have a good working knowledge of IT including ability to effectively use Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word and databases

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff
