Job overview

Reporting to the Care Group Accountable Officer, the post holder will contribute to the overall management and leadership for service development, transformation and business/resource planning throughout the identified care group in keeping with the Trusts’ strategic objectives, 
annual plan and Care Group (CG) business plan. 
Working in alignment with the CG leads, the post holder will operate across both Health and Social Care organisational structures (where relevant) and within the context of an overall budget. The post holder will ensure performance management is firmly embedded into the Care Group culture and performance targets are met.
To continuously review services through the lens of improving performance and lead the delivery of change plans/improvement programmes to ensure integration into sustainable daily business.
To develop shared objectives promoting a culture of collaborative working and empowering staff to achieve both performance and transformational change initiatives. 
The post holder will lead or participate in service development and system reform to modernise services within the CG/ local Health Economy, systems and environments.
Provide leadership and accountability for the implementation of agreed objectives, systems and processes including for example Management and Supervision Tool (MAST) and Added Value Programmes (AVP).

Main duties of the job

Ensure performance management arrangements are in place within all 
services within the Care Group.
Ensure clear performance reporting and monitoring mechanisms/ structures are in place for all Care group key performance indicators. 
Maintain effective internal relationships and communication with the
relevant corporate service senior leaders and those aligned to the 
Care Group including Deputy Director Contracting and Business 
Development and Deputy Director Performance and Business 
Development.
Support and where appropriate lead the development and 
maintenance of effective external relationships with partner agencies to 
identify changing needs, problems in effective service delivery and 
contracting/ sub contracting relationships.
Support the Care Group SLT to embed a culture of performance 
management throughout the Divisions.
In conjunction with the CG Accountable officer:
With the identified finance lead actively monitor the Care Groups
Financial Performance to ensure effective and efficient use of 
resources.
Support the development and implementation of effective financial 
recovery plans within the Divisions, if required.
Lead the development and support the delivery of any performance 
remedial action plans including Contract Performance Notices
Interpret highly complex performance information and analyse data to 
identify performance/quality issues.
Take a lead role to address performance issues with operational leads.

Experioence and Education

Essential criteria
  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional clinical registration (Eg RGN, RMN, Social Worker, OT, Psychologist)
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop skills for analysing service, client, organisational, staffing issues
  • Demonstrate the ability formulate long term strategic plans for the services.
