Senior Sister / Charge Nurse – Emergency Department

The Accident and Emergency department at Fairfield General Hospital is looking for a highly motivated, innovative and experienced Senior Nurse to join our dynamic team within the Emergency Department .

You should be positive and adaptable to a changing environment that prides itself on quality and efficiency.
You will be given the opportunity to learn and develop new leadership and management skills and act as a role model for best practice to junior staff. This role will also allow for further development opportunities within our team. A calm, diplomatic and caring approach is necessary and you must have the ability to deal with the varied and challenging demands.
You must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure, work within a large multi-disciplinary team and ensure the trust values and 6C's is incorporated in to practice. A real understanding of flow and capacity is essential with a developing leadership ability to bring the team with them in achieving our Care Organisations goals.
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals, who work well under pressure and are keen to show clinical leadership skills. A great team player, you will also be self-motivated and able to work independently when needed.
You will be a professional who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but can also apply these qualities to team members at all levels.
A sense of ownership for your patients, a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to deliver the best patient care is essential.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. - Substantial post Reg Experience within ED including proven experience at band 6. (significant years post Registration, notable years in specialty and at band 6)
- Evidence of professional/ specialist clinical and managerial expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD and experience
- Evidence of leadership, management and team development at clinical level
- Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners
- Evidence of involvement in the development of protocols and clinical audit
Qualifications & Registration

- Degree level studies or equivalent portfolio of evidence
