Maintenance Electrician

Job overview

The Estates Department are looking to enhance their maintenance team and would like to add a Maintenance Electrician to their team of staff.

You will work as a member of the Estates team across multi-disciplined trades.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a comprehensive electrical service to all wards and departments in a multi-disciplined environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures. 

You will provide emergency response and undertake on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to.   You must possess a level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post qualification experience and knowledge in Electrical services
  • Broad experience in Electrical services including Electrical Power & lighting, Electrical distribution equipment, Motors, Pumps and controls.
  • Current full driving licence
  • Use own initiative
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a good level of written and verbal English skills.
  • Working in a team
  • Capable of Working in a demanding service line
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in an Acute Hospital/Healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of various Health & Safety Legislation as applicable to core trade
  • Knowledge of COSHH
  • Experience of working on Emergency lighting, Emergency Generators, Nurse Call Systems, Auto door systems, Entry systems

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 18th Edition IET wiring regulations
  • Level 2 Electrical Engineering or NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Time served apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
  • Inspection & Testing 2391
