An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Learning Disability Nurse to join a highly experienced multi-professional health care team working in the Learning Disabilities Directorate within the Specialist Services Division of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The post-holder will be based within the Learning Disability Team in Bury.

Service/Ward/Department Summary: The post-holder will be based within the Learning Disability Team in Bury which is a truly multidisciplinary team that works with individuals with a mild, moderate or severe learning disability from age 18. We deliver high quality health assessments and interventions to people with complex and challenging needs. The team comprises of community nurses, speech and language therapists, OT, psychologists, care coordinators, psychiatry input.
Main duties of the job Role Summary: Delivery of evidence based health and behavioural assessments and interventions to adults with learning disabilities who have complex and challenging needs. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary context with the expectation to be person centred, creative and innovative in meeting the health needs of individuals whilst offering support to families and carers. There will be the opportunity to work across a range of settings and with a range of provider services. There are regular opportunities for continuing professional development and peer supervision with other Community Nurses working in the Directorate. We are eager to support continual professional development and access to additional training opportunities.

- Good standard of general education

- Mentorship qualification
- Training around/knowledge of Positive behavioural approaches
Experience

- Experience of working with people with a learning disability

- Experience of working with people with a leaning disability
- Previous experience of working within a community team for learning disabilities.
Knowledge

- Ability to deal with complex sensitive and distressing situations which may include challenging behaviour, abuse and breaking bad news

- Knowledge of child protection and adult safeguarding.
