EIS Assessment Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or  Occupational Therapist to join our specialist service for people experiencing a first episode of 
psychosis. 
We are recruiting a Band 6 Assessment Practitioner for our assessment team covering the  area of Manchester. 
The Assessment Practitioner will be responsible for completing initial assessments for all  service users referred into the service within two weeks, in accordance with the NHS England  Access and Waiting Time Standards. The post holder will be supported with their  responsibilities by the wider team including administrative support. Regular training will be  provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in Social Work, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the regulatory body as applicable; Social Work England, HCPC, NMC.

  • Evidence of robust continued professional development including training in relevant subjects.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working with people with psychosis & mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS either within a volunteer or paid post

  • Experience of working with people with complex presentations and high rates of co-morbidity
  • Experience of work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of working within a CMHT/EIS setting and completing assessments with people who have been referred into the service

Knowledge

  • An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Care Program Approach 2008.
  • An understanding of the NHS England Access and Waiting Time Standards
