Applications are invited for a Consultant in Oncoplastic and Gender Affirming Breast Surgery This post is based within the gender affirmation service at North Manchester general hospital , Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
The Breast Surgery Unit at MFT is the largest unit in the country and is looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow with an interest in delivering Masculinising chest & Oncoplastic Breast Surgery to join our team on a permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
The Trust (MFT) fellow post is a substantive post appointed by MFT for a UK-based or overseas candidate.
The appointee will join a team of chest wall contouring and oncoplastic breast surgeons working between North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) and Trafford General Hospital (TGH). The post will appeal to appropriately trained surgeons who have a proven sub-specialty interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and wish to gain specialised experience and knowledge in gender affirming chest wall contouring surgery.
Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC
- FRCS or equivalent
- CCT General Surgery (or Plastic Surgery with a TIG fellowship)
Desirable criteria
- MD,PhD,MSc
- Medical Education qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide experience in all aspects of breast disease management
- Experience in oncoplastic breast surgery (evidenced by surgical logbook)
Desirable criteria
- Unsupervised experience in oncoplastic breast surgery
Skills
Essential criteria
- Evidence of a suitable breadth of breast surgical experience provided by a logbook
- Evidence of a quality improvement project
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit
Desirable criteria
- Other relevant oncoplastic breast courses
- Evidence of research publications

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
