The Healthcare team at HMP Garth is a team who not only look after the healthcare needs of the prisoners, but who also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being.

HMP Garth is a Category B male prison in Leyland.  

You must have been in the UK for 12 months prior to applying for this post and be able to provide a 6 year address history to be able to complete the prison clearance.

 This role is subject to a additional recruitment and retention premia of £1542 per annum

Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals who are keen to take on roles with varied duties, supporting the delivery of excellent healthcare to prisoners. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member.

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team by bringing your top-notch clinical skills and passion for care.

With plenty of primary care experience, you could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics (well man, health promotion), undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells, and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.

Education and Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Physical Health Nurse or working towards
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Desirable criteria
  • Willingness to undertake additional qualifications to enhance service delivery

Experience

  • Experience in clinical practice
