The Rehabilitation Ward provides in-patient assessment, care and rehabilitation for up to 12 adults with mental health difficulties.

The Rehabilitation Ward supports adults with severe and complex mental health needs to step back into their community and fulfil their potential on their journey of recovery.

We work under CPA, you will be responsible for a small caseload, coordinating care as a Primary Nurse/Associate Nurse where required, liaising with Care Coordinator and outside agencies

The Rehabilitation Ward operates a Trust Shift System which consists of two long days and two regular shifts. The day shift starts at 07.30 to 19:45, 07:30 to 15:30, 13:00 to 21:00 and the night shift at 19.30 to 07:45

We are looking for two Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our team at Bramley Street Open Community Rehabilitation Inpatient Service under the Rehabilitation Division of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The Posts are permanent.

There are two full time position at 37.5hrs per week - Two long day shifts and two short shifts days with three days off per week.

Our rehabilitation unit provides in-patient assessment, care and rehabilitation for up to 12 adults with mental health difficulties aged 18 upwards and the length of stay will depend on progress through the pathway.

The patient’s length of stay here will depend on progress through the structured rehabilitation program or via an acute step-down pathway.  Services users can be referred here primarily for structured rehabilitation for 6 to 12 months or we can provide a Step-Down service for those patients who require intensive rehabilitation following an acute admission for up to 3 – 6 months. Following discharge, we can offer an Outreach Service offering transitional support back into the community.

We are looking for someone who is amiable, motivated, able to work using their own initiative and can work creatively to motivate service users who might struggle to engage. Successful candidates will commence the post as soon as possible.

  • • Must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery models of care.

  • • Up to date clinical knowledge including risk assessment, dual diagnosis, Psycho social interventions and health and social care needs
  • • Ability to work on social factors affecting mental distress e.g. accommodation, substance misuse, domestic violence, welfare rights
  • • Understanding of psychological principles and how to apply these to practice.
  • • Understanding, knowledge and experience of using recovery model principles
