         One day per week study time

        To take responsibility for tasks within the broad range of work (both routine and specialized) of the Medical Device Workshop.

       To work at all times to a high standard of engineering competence

 

Main duties of the job

·        

To liaise with medical, nursing, laboratory and technical staff

regarding

the safe use and operation of equipment.

 

To receive and respond to requests from medical device users for

equipment repair and information.

 

To liaise with external manufacturers regarding equipment issues

such as ordering of spare parts, service kits, repair problems etc.

 

To liaise with other Trusts and external health organization with

which we have contracted maintenance.

 

To ensure that reported adverse incidents involving patient and

equipment are processed through the correct channels maintaining

appropriate confidentiality.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The broad purpose of the occupation is to ensure patient safety and service continuity for specialist healthcare medical devices or healthcare estates in a clinical setting. They conduct planned maintenance to prevent issues occurring and reactive maintenance. Other duties include acceptance testing ,installation, decommissioning, and safety tests and checks.

  • Not hold an Engineering qualification or significant Clinical Engineering experience
