Senior MSK Physiotherapist

Job overview

The post holder will work in the MSK outpatient service which accepts referrals from secondary care specialties such as orthopaedics, hand therapy, pain, pelvic health, employee health and wellbeing service and rheumatology.  B6 MSK physiotherapists contribute to the orthopaedic and MSK weekend rota at Trafford General Hospital. The post holder may work cross site including Altrincham, Wythenshawe and Withington.  

The successful candidate will carry an independent caseload of patients with musculoskeletal problems, and deliver a high standard of evidence-based physiotherapy. There are opportunities to experience running rehabilitation groups as well as seeing patients in a clinic environment.  

Main duties of the job

  • Delivery of evidence-based physiotherapy management of patients with musculoskeletal presentations
  • Supervision of rehab assistants and band 5 physiotherapists
  • Clinical mentorship of student physiotherapists
  • Service development projects, such as audit and quality improvement programmes
  • Participate in orthopaedic and MSK weekend rota

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Graduate Diploma/ BSc / Pre-Registration MSc in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant post-graduate courses

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate clinical experience
  • Broad Range of post graduate experience in a rotational post
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Supervision and education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the working of community physiotherapy services
  • Involvement with audit and research
