An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 leaders within Intensive care at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

Main duties of the job

You should be positive and adaptable to a changing environment that prides itself on quality and efficiency.

You will be given the opportunity to learn and develop leadership and management skills.

A calm, diplomatic and caring approach is necessary, and you must have the ability to deal with the varied and challenging demands.

You must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure, work within a large multidisciplinary team and ensure the Trust Values are incorporated into practice

We are looking for a dedicated, committed, and experienced nurses Band 5 nurses who have the critical care course.

You will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to wanting to help drive advanced skills within this challenging but exciting environment.

Developing your skills in patient experience, patient safety, clinical governance, and regulatory compliance. Fundamental to this, is the development of a culture where excellent quality patient care is at the heart of all that we do.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Essential criteria
  • Registration with NMC
  • ILS or ALS
  • Post-basic qualification to minimum degree level or equivalent experience
  • Post basic qualification in Critical Care
  • Evidence of mentorship / teaching qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of audit and research experience
  • Demonstrate initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus
  • Ability to use reflective practice, to continuously improve the standard of patient care
