The HSDU at The Royal Oldham Hospital is looking for two self-motivated and reliable individuals to train as Decontamination Technicians.

You will be joining a busy team to undertake decontamination science duties in providing a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.

Full training will be given in line with the department's ISO 13485 accreditation to allow you to assist in the safe and efficient delivery of decontamination services. You will receive continuous development and the opportunity to enhance your career within the sterile services field.

Main duties of the job

You will demonstrate a commitment and interest within the speciality and have proven ability to work within a challenging environment as part of a dedicated team.

You will have strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate with staff at all levels, often being the main contact between the HSDU and service users.

Above all else, you will possess an eye for detail and the self-discipline to follow procedures strictly.

If you have these skills and are able to deal with difficult situations as they arise, this post could be for you.
