Job overview

The Digital department at the Northern Care Alliance is seeking an inspirational, proactive, experienced full time, Band 7 Integration Specialist to integrate and develop clinical and non-clinical applications and data across the Trust.

This key position requires the postholders to liaise with clinical and operational staff both within and external to the Trust to support across both sites. An enthusiastic, flexible, and conscientious approach is required as is good communication skills and front-line people skills.

The post holder is tasked with the support, development and maintenance of the trusts integration and the post holder should posses excellent knowledge of integration technologies and act as the subject matter expert on the system integration.  HL7 messaging knowledge is also required.

Main duties of the job

  • Analysis of key Trust data integration requirements, design and implementation utilising the Trust Interface Engine and other software tools.
  • Analysis and development of IT systems to meet the Trust’s objectives including design, development, configuration, maintenance and reporting.
  • Provide systems and interface support. Liaise with technical support to provide expert advice and assistance as part of the problem management process.
  • Provide technical training for the technical support team to ensure systems are maintained as required.
  • Provide expert advice and support in the use of IT systems for data analysis using advanced database and query language tools.
  • Provide project management when required.

Knowledge, Training, Experience, Skills, Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Expertise in a variety of software development methodologies
  • Previous clinical project experience
  • Evidence of exposure to professional development with Ensemble (Healthshare) or a similar integration engine.
  • Has used Healthcare Messaging standards, principally HL7, FHIR, DICOM
  • Experience in the use of healthcare data.
  • Experience in software development (MVC, XML, XSLT, XSD, Windows Presentation Framework,CDA, FHIR)
  • Ability to translate complex technical problems both verbally and in written form to a range of business and technical audiences, including senior management and novice users, to support a wider understanding of key issues
  • Good communication skills
