Job overview
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Dispenser to support and enhance our technical team.
Your role will involve the dispensing and labelling of medicines for in-patients, out-patients and discharges, working at ward level as part of a discharge team, greeting patients at the pharmacy reception where you will receive and issue prescriptions.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship
Main duties of the job
You will need good communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner. You must be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focused service.
Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided, plus you will be required to study for and gain the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential criteria
- Good verbal and written communication, including by telephone
- Numerical accuracy
- Awareness of the range of duties involved in the post
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy
- A knowledge of stock control systems
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Steady and dependable but willing to accept change readily
Desirable criteria
- Skilled in computer keyboard and applications
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
