Northern Care Alliance are looking for a self-motivated person with an interest in working in a clinical environment to join our Respiratory/Sleep Team.
The role will involve performing a range of respiratory/ sleep investigations and assisting in more advanced respiratory/sleep procedures.

The Respiratory/Sleep Team based on Fairfield Hospital site and covering services on Royal Oldham Hospital and the newly build Community Diagnostic Centre in Royton Oldham, offers a range of respiratory/sleep investigations to give a complete patient experience from initial investigation, treatment and up to the follow on care of patients within this field.
Main duties of the job
- Performing a range of non-routine respiratory/sleep investigations such as Simple Spirometry, basic sleep screening, inhaler techniques and CPAP mask fitting.
- Assisting in more advanced respiratory/sleep investigations.
- Provide reports for routine respiratory/sleep investigations.
- Participate in resuscitation procedures/BLS.
- Liaise with wards, departments requesting procedures to give best patient care.
- Ensure effective administration of patient reports and data storage ensuring confidentiality.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to GCSE level or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Specialist training and /or professional qualification in respiratory/sleep investigations
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Interest in working in a clinical background
Desirable criteria
- Practical experience and familiarity with a range of respiratory/sleep investigations
- Competent to perform basic Respiratory/Sleep investigations
- Basic life support training
- Commitment to training and education required for the role
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria
- Basic IT skills
- Good communication skills (verbal, written and non-written)
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Able to undertake complex eye-hand coordination tasks such as electrode placement, and dexterity and coordination for the use of diagnostic equipment
Desirable criteria
- Able and willing to learn and study independently
