Job overview

As soon as the doors open at 8am you are serving customer, whilst the role can be exhausting if can also be very rewarding. Through out the year we have many things going on, from big celebrations of NHS achievements to BBQs whenever the sun shines, no two days are ever the same.  

The main aim of the job is to provide the best possible service and experience for patients, visitors and staff using the Staff Restaurant, whilst maintaining a high standard of Food Safety and Cleanliness.

The dining room is very busy and the successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and at speed. 

Part of the job requires the post holder to prepare salads and sandwiches for lunch, therefore a knowledge of catering is required. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder with be required to;

    • Record food and fridge temperatures, accurately and record the information clearly.
    • Work on the service counter using good customer service and communication skills to engage with customers.
    • Use engagement to drive sales.
    • Relay information back to the department supervisor regarding orders placed or stock needed
    • Produce barista style coffee
    • Regenerate a range of snacks and food items for customers as required. 
    • Take cash and card payment from customers, balance the till at the end of service, recording all information accurately.
    • Work very closely with other members of the small team, and play their part in delivering the best possible service
