This includes responsibility for the formation, development and delivery of a spiritual care strategy. Additionally, contributing to the inclusion of spirituality within the trust clinical strategy. And inclusive ‘spirituality’ workstreams across care groups incorporating pastoral, spiritual and religious care for all service users. The post holder will be responsible for managing the service, supervising the chaplains, all spiritual care staff and volunteers. Main duties of the job
Spiritual Care at Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust exists to meet service user spiritual care need. It exists to enhance recovery from mental ill health as part of a holistic and person-centred treatment package approach and in compliance with the protected characteristics of religion and belief (Equality Act 2010). Chaplaincy and spiritual care is primarily a service for service users, though at GMMH, this service also provides a diverse programme for supporting the spiritual needs and wellbeing of staff. The service is committed to enabling staff to ‘bring their whole and authentic self’ to work. This is delivered via a series of faith specific staff networks and a programme of activities in our Spiritual Care Hubs, including meditation and yoga
