Job overview
This post holder will be responsible for supporting the design, development and delivery of high-quality Power BI Dashboards across the organisation. The post holder will work closely with the Data Warehouse Team, Data Insight Leads, Performance Lead and operational/corporate services to ensure robust and successful visual outputs for decision making and service improvements.
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of processes and procedures relating to Power BI including templates, development cycle, change control and testing. The post holder will provide advice and guidance to users/support to the analyst team and wider stakeholders in the development of data visualisations that reflect the needs of the services and inform decision making. The post holder will act as a key BI point of contact for operational services and colleagues across corporate services

Main duties of the job
- Actively contribute to a trustwide data visualisation transformation roadmap across operational and corporate services, getting buy in and support from senior leaders to improve trustwide data maturity
- Lead on the development of range of intuitive, reporting, analysis, and dashboarding for all levels of the Trust including clinicians, service managers, and directors via Power BI
- Commit to continual education through formal training, informal skills transfer and self-tuition. This post requires continual upgrading of skills to reflect rapid changes in technology.
- Based on own learning and research to develop and improve visualisation and reporting processes to support and improve clinical and operational decision making
- Ensure robust procedures are in place for validating all data and information reported
- Support the Data Visualisation Strategic Lead to ensure all key stakeholder needs are met.
- Establish and maintain networks with data visualisation leads across Greater Manchester to share best practice and highlight areas of learning for the team and services

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent and / or relevant technical experience
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
- Project management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of producing reports and dashboards via a data visualisation tool such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
- Experience of working within an agile environment
- Experience of line management, providing support and training to other colleagues and managing staff development
- Experience of working with facts and dimensions reporting models and understanding of the relationship structure of these model types
Desirable criteria
- Experience of DAX
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the importance of data quality, confidentiality and security and Information Governance principles
- Good understanding of the development and management of enterprise level relational databases
- Good understanding of SPC and their uses in business processes.

- Understanding of the current key targets for the NHS
