Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for delivering specialist nursing care for patients who have a variety of rheumatology conditions.
In this role, you’ll help our patients by providing specialist advice that supports the assessment, planning, and implementation of personalised care programs. You’ll also carry out specialised nursing procedures, ensuring that each patient receives the care they truly need.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RGN First Degree in nursing or an equivalent portfolio of evidence
- Relevant proven knowledge, qualification and/or demonstrable experience at a post graduate level.
Desirable criteria
- Non-medical prescriber
Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
Knowledge, Training, Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post registration experience in medical nursing
- Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory acquired through CPD
- Experience in rheumatology nursing
- Proven knowledge of local and national policy
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols and clinical audit
- Evidence of supervising / mentoring other staff and students
- Evidence of leadership development
