Job overview
The Dermatology Department are actively seeking qualified consultant within the area or for those who are looking to relocate and commence employment as a locum consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Dermatology departments in the whole of the UK and open yourself to a fantastic learning environment.
This hospital in Greater Manchester is perfectly located within a thriving city, which has a great background of supporting doctors from all backgrounds. This is an exciting opportunity for a doctor who is seeking their first role as a substantive consultant after completing their specialist registration.
(Primarily based at Stockport Dermatology services with possibility of some activity at other sites; Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre and/or Kingsgate House in Stockport, 33 Market Street Altrincham WA14 1RZ).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide general dermatology clinics, skin cancer clinics and skin surgery mainly at the Salford Royal Dermatology at Stockport service. With the potential for paediatric dermatology clinics which take place at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Management of the existing workload may chage during this appointment, and this will be reflected within the job plan as necessary.
On call is provided to the Greater Manchester area by the registrar and consultant on call. This takes the form of one week of 9am-5pm on call (1:19).
There is scope at SRFT to develop further specialist interest if the candidate has got another area of expertise within dermatology.

- Inclusion on the Specialist Register / Admission to the Register within 6 months of interview
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
Qualifications and Training

- To be formally recognized as Clinical Supervisor as defined by the GMC Trainer Standards
- Current Advanced Life Support Certification
- Participation in a management training course.
- ATLS or ETC certification
