The Hospital at Night Team consists of Site Coordinators, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Clinical Support Team who work closely throughout the night working alongside the medical and surgical teams.
You will be responsible for coordinating and triaging the clinical workload out of hours, utilising an internet based clinical paging system (iBleep) and will be able to provide clinical support and leadership out of hours, monitor staffing levels, risk assess and move staff appropriately in partnership with divisions.
You should have effective leadership skills, be a quick thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate a good track record of being able to engage staff from all disciplines whilst maintaining high professional standards.
As well as supporting the bed management team with patient flow across the hospital, you will also provide support in ensuring safe staffing is achieved, respond to emergency calls, fire alarms and many other site issues.
Your role will involve making sound decisions, often under pressure, so a calm and pleasant manner is essential.
This is a crucial role in the organisation and requires the ability to work independently and pro-actively.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
