The Adult Social Care workforce aims to improve outcomes for adults who live in Salford by empowering individuals, adopting a strength’s-based approach across the service, promoting independence, and working in partnership with our residents so their experiences, opportunities and lives are as good as they can be. This will be achieved through developing a skilled and motivated workforce by investing in their continued professional development and ensuring their practice is current and of a high standard.

Main duties of the job

You may have or will be expected to undertake a postgraduate qualification and role in specialised practice e.g., AMHP, BIA. You will need to have capability to integrate professional knowledge, the views of people using services and research/evaluation evidence routinely in their practice. You will need to demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk while promoting enablement and self-determination. You will need to network and liaise with a wider range of professionals and other colleagues, including at more senior or strategic levels. You will need to manage complex caseloads and offer expert opinion within the organisation and to others.

Twice rated “Outstanding” by the CQC, Salford Care Organisation is responsible for delivering a range of community and primary care services and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.

We are committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of our Social Work staff. It is recognised by the Trust that many experienced Social Work staff are currently likely to be employed by local government organisations, and to ensure there is clarity over terms and conditions of employment we offer National Joint Council Pay Scales to Social Workers we appoint, rather than NHS pay-scales. We have adopted the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment which is used for recognising continuous service regarding annual leave, sickness, and maternity for moves within Greater Manchester. In addition, we also recognise previous, continuous, national local government service regarding annual leave.
