Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 CBT Therapist to join the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service in the Stockport borough. This is a permanent, part time (0.6 WTE) post and we are looking for someone to join our team 3 days a week due to the previous postholder retiring.
Our team is located in a Psychological Therapies Department based at Stepping Hill Hospital. We are a friendly, connected team comprising of Clinical Psychologists and other Psychological Therapists who value continued professional development and peer support.
The team provides both individual and group therapies to service users in the Community and offers consultation (case discussion and formulation, teaching, supervision) to the two CMHTs in Stockport. We also work closely with other clinical teams including the Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) Pathway and the Early Intervention Service. In addition to our community offer, we also have a dedicated Psychologist working on to the two inpatient wards.
The post holder will be accountable to the Principal Clinical Psychologist/Team Manager for Secondary Care Psychological Therapies.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work 3 days a week offering CBT to service users on both a one-to-one and group basis. Experience in working with service users who present with psychosis would be advantageous but not essential. Currently we run four group interventions including a Mindfulness group, a DBT-informed skills group, a Bipolar Relapse Prevention group and a Hearing Voices group.
The post holder may also be asked to co-facilitate groups on the inpatient wards but the main focus of the role would be in the community.
While the above is our current offer, we are continuously reviewing our work and are open to fresh ideas and perspectives, and new initiatives.
Clinical supervision will be offered to the post holder in line with your therapeutic modality.
