Stockport NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting for an Information Analyst to join the friendly and forward-thinking team in Occupational Health.  If you have a great eye for detail, knowledge of information systems, ability to analyse complex data and strong customer service skills, this may be the role for you.

The individual will require strong project management and analytical skills and having a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.

The post-holder will liaise directly with staff from the Trust, external customers, as well as the department IT system provider.  The establishment and maintenance of good relations with all appropriate stakeholders is an essential aspect of this post.

You will be part of the Occupational Health senior team having individual responsibility for user and system administration, designing and amending data collection templates, maintaining high data quality and ensuring data is available for clinical and non-clinical staff and for business intelligence reporting.

You will work with the Occupational Health OPAS-G2 System, providing support and guidance to its users and play an integral part in the maintenance and upkeep of the system itself.

You should be a great team player as the role will include deputising for other members of the team as needed.

You will have an eye for detail and understand the importance of great customer service.

The post holder will be supported by the senior team both in the department and in the Division.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        Provide effective leadership to all occupational staff in relation to the OPAS-G2 System.

·        Ensure staff are regularly updated on emerging IT issues affecting departmental services and performance and ensure that staff can raise issues and suggestions in order to improve the efficiency of the OH service.

·        Take lead role on development of IM&T.     

·        To provide complex and sensitive information to both internal and external staff/departments and with the expectation to explain such information at departmental meetings and relevant Trust committees.

·        Provide monthly activity reports for external purchasers to facilitate invoicing and provide a summary of all income generation which can then be invoiced in a timely manner, allowing for investigation and reconciliation of any financial queries.

·        Track income generation expenditure and highlight any adverse trends to the Head of OH.

·        Reconcile monthly activity figures to be invoiced by spoke units against recorded activity in OPAS-G2 and query any overcharges and omissions.  Track Spoke expenditure against purchase order and inform the Head of OH where expenditure is likely to exceed the Purchase Order value.

·        Lead on allocated projects, demonstrating evidence of good project management skills and be able to adhere to project management principles.

·        Develop effective working relationships with other colleagues in Information Services.

·        Develop forms, reports and processes within OPAS-G2, making use of programming languages such as HTML to achieve a greater level of in-house system development.

·        Develop and maintain internal procedures and documentation to support the efficient running of OPAS-G2 and the general IT infrastructure.

·        Analyse, investigate and resolve complex IT/statistical queries as they arise, using problem solving techniques to ensure the smooth running of the service and avoid unnecessary service disruption/down time of the IT system.

·        Liaise with Director and Head of OH to define and analyse business requirements and deliver service improvements and manage operational efficiencies through the use of technology.

·        Produce monthly Key Performance Indicators for all service areas within OH and collate and circulate KPI reports to external contract holders as requested.

·        Regular communication with colleagues and system users at all levels within the organisation, other agencies and suppliers.

·        Investigate existing and future capability of OPAS-G2 in liaison with users to expand functionality of the system, maximising value for money and increasing work efficiencies and quality of information.

·        The postholder will be required to deputise for the Head of OH as necessary.
