Job overview

The post holder will be practising autonomously as a qualified advanced practitioner within the Emergency Department to provide patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate.

 

The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in their area.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver an 80% clinical component to their role. 20% will be related to clinical professional development underpinned by the advanced practice framework with an expectation to undertake & complete the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) e-portfolio to become credentialed. Clinical professional development; Supervised Clinical support, appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, self-development and research allocation will be individualised & time allocation will be directed by an agreed job plan & in alignment with departmental Advanced Practice framework & progression pathway agreed with the Consultant ACP & EM Clinical director

•             If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
