An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Infection Prevention & Control Service team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
The Infection Prevention & Control Service is seeking to appoint an Band 6 Infection Prevention & Control Service Nurse to cover a period of maternity leave (Sept 2024 to May 2025). This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge, experience and learn new skills within a dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing, excellent clinical skills and experience working in the field of infection prevention & control. You will need to be able to empower staff and facilitate effective infection prevention & control practice within the organisation.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are vital, with an ability to motivate others, prioritise your workload and have a positive approach due to the challenging work, as no two days are the same.
As the service covers off site facilities, community sites as well as the Stepping Hill site the ability to be able to visit these is an essential part of the role.
You will be required to work to high standards maintaining a high-quality finish to aspects of your work. The post is full time, 37.5hours over 7 days with a need for flexibility as there may be early starts, late finishes on some days, with advanced notice.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
