An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust to work within the Medical Education Team to support and coordinate the delivery of training and education to medical students and doctors in training within the Trust.
Assisting the undergraduate team in the delivery of the MBChB curriculum to 3rd, 4th and 5th year students during their attachment at the hospital. In addition, there will be the opportunity to become involved in AUC Overseas Student Teaching, Foundation Teaching, training of the Physician Associates, and delivery of in-situ simulation.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend educational activities held in the trust including Grand Rounds, audit meetings and relevant specialty meeting. There will be a flexible approach to clinical work which will be discussed on an individual basis.

- Delivery of the MBChB curriculum to all undergraduate medical students attached to the hospital
- Delivery of bedside teaching for University of Manchester (UoM) and American University of the Caribbean (AUC) medical students
- Delivery of clinical examination teaching to medical students of all years
- Opportunities to utilise the Pinewood clinical simulation facilities to deliver teaching in a dynamic way will also be made available
- Ability to adapt teaching skills to fit the environmental situation eg: remote and face to face delivery of teaching
- Assist with orientation and induction of medical students to the clinical environment
- Involvement in the delivery of AUC OSCE examinations
- Delivery of teaching for Foundation Trainees and Physician Associates
- Form part of the in-situ simulation team
- Actively engage with virtual technology pilots the team are involved with
- Financial support up to £1200 will be provided for the undertaking of a teaching qualification (i.e PGCert in Medical Education) during your time at the Trust and there will be opportunities to participate in audit and small research projects

Communications
- Liaise with members of the Medical Education team, Educational Fellows and the wider Medical Education team to ensure a high standard of training is provided
- Build working relationships with specialty clinical teams to ensure a smooth transition to the delivery of bed side teaching and in-situ simulation
- Liaise with Manchester Foundation Trust – Wythenshawe (MFT-W) student support services when required
- Key member of the Undergraduate Team delivering regular inductions for the 3rd year medical students
- Involvement in the Trust junior doctors’ inductions
Responsibility for Patient Care
- Assist patients /service users/carers/relatives during contact in the clinical environment
- Respectful of patients consent/non consent around clinical examinations and history taking

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
