FULL TIME POST - 37.5 HOURS A WEEK

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Health Care Assistant (HCA) to work within the Treehouse Children's Unit at Stepping Hill Hospital.

The successful candidate can look forward to working within a friendly supportive environment with training and development provided.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills, a confident user of IT systems with a keen eye for detail. You will also be involved in helping to provide play activities, required to assist the nursing staff with distraction techniques and support the escorting of children to other departments.

Duties will also include general housekeeping tasks to help the ward run efficiently. At times, you may also be required to support the teams on the co-located out patient area.

To enhance your development you will be required to complete the in-house care certificate training course within 3 months of taking up the post and will be supported to complete a number of additional clinical competencies relevant to the role.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
