Our department has been chosen as an ‘exemplar site’ for NHS catering, following the recommendations of a national Independent Review into NHS Hospital Food . It was one of the first 14 sites across England (and the only site in Greater Manchester) in 2021 to be chosen for the honour.

The exemplar sites have been described as brave, courageous, and innovative and the title is a testament to the team and the wonderful work that takes place here.

Our retail offering consists of 5 busy catering outlets across the site - proudly serving 'barista-made' Costa Coffee in 3 outlets, as well as a shop and recently refurbished Restaurant.

Main duties of the job

·         Assist in the service of food items as required

·        Working around the site including the Costa outlets serving beverages and food

·        To be able to dismantle and reassemble equipment being cleaned

·        Carrying out cleaning duties in accordance with Departmental Specifications and Cleaning Policy

·        Disposing of food waste and refuse safely and hygienically

  • Assist in the cleaning of all containers, crockery, and cutlery used in the service to Staff, and Visitors
  • To operate a till and re-stock areas
  • Using the uniforms provided and meeting the required standards of dress, including the displaying of name badge

The vacant 37.50 hours are to be worked over a  day shift pattern, from Monday to Sunday and the hours of work will be contracted anywhere from 7:00am and 7:30pm due to service requirements.

Working for our organisation

We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.

We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage & civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. Recognising those communities that are underrepresented within our workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from you.

If you require support with your application please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.

We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
