Ward F5/F2 currently have an exciting oppurtunity for a full time 12 month  secondment post available within the cardiac division, working on both F5 & F2

F2/F5 are innovative wards caring for a wide range of day case patients undergoing invasive cardiology procedures such as coronary angiogram, coronary angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, and long stay patients with conditions such as heart failure, endocarditis, myocardial infarction.

This will be an ideal opportunity for a staff nurse with 3 years cardiology  experience who is eager to expand and progress their nursing practice. On appointment the successful candidate/s will receive full support in education and preceptorship/mentorship.

We are looking for individuals with a genuine interest in Cardiology who are hard working and passionate about delivering high standards of patient care and are motivated towards maintaining and improving their own skills.

A flexible approach to shift patterns is essential. Flexible working hours can include Part time, and job share.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for providing care post procedure and discharging patients who have undergone the cardiac procedures mentioned above. The post holder will also be responsible for co-ordinating the movement of staff and patients between the two wards ensuring patients receive the appropriate level of care. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills with the full assistance of the ward manager and matron.

Applicants should have experience of providing pre, post and discharge care of day case cardiology patients. You should be motivated, innovative and dynamic in your thinking and practice and be able to work as an integrated member of the ward team.
