Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Wigan Admin Teams for a Team Administrator.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrator who enjoys working as part of a team and can demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high quality administration support in an efficient and timely manner.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, IT competency in Word, Excel and Outlook and a broad range of administrative experience.  You will be part of a team of administrators providing admin cover to our service users, clinicians and other health professionals.

Main duties of the job

The Team Administrator will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and confidential administrative support to the Wigan Specialist Community Mental Health Team.

The post holder will provide an administrative function to the managers, minute taking of meetings, typing of letters, filing, diary management and other general administrative duties.

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Typing/WP RSAII or equivalent or demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL NVQ2 Business Administration GCSE English grade A-C or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in an office environment
Desirable criteria
  • Audio Typing experience. Experience of working within the NHS or related healthcare. Experience of dealing with members of the public.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of office procedures. Familiar with Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook. Awareness of Recovery Model. Awareness of children/vulnerable adults guidelines.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as member of a team. Ability to operate and maintain filing systems both manual and electronic. Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings. Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. Able to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate.
