Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist
We have an exciting opportunities for Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapists at our Wythenshawe site. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking and dynamic physiotherapist to join our Band 6 rotations, with the ability to work flexibly and well as part of a team.
You will be able to undertake advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with a diverse and often complex presentation. To have excellent clinical reasoning to develop and deliver individual treatment programs, and be able to plan safe and timely discharges. You will be able to manage your own caseload alongside supporting more junior staff, assistants, students and team leaders.
Rotations are currently 8 monthly and provide a wide variety of clinical opportunities including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Burns and Plastics, General Surgery, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Stroke Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Thoracic Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis , Long Term Ventilation, Complex Health & Medicine, Complex Airways, Community Respiratory Team.
The department is committed to CPD and moving the Governments’ initiatives forward. Applicants must have a broad range of post graduate experience. They should also be enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic and a team player.
Main duties of the job
To help deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service to patients in the area of specialty that you are working in.
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with a diverse and often complex presentation. You will require excellent clinical reasoning to develop and deliver individual treatment programs and plan appropriate discharges, and be able to prioritise to clinical need.
To be responsible for organising and managing your own caseload to meet service need and patient priorities.
Be able to support, appraise and educate more junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and students.
Support your team leaders and deputise as required.
To have excellent communication skills with patients, relatives and be able to show empathy and understanding
Work as part of the therapy team and wider MDT demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Maintain Confidentiality, dignity and professionalism at all times.
To participate in the weekend and On call rotas as departmental policy
To maintain your professional standards of practice and codes of conduct and ensure any staff under your supervision maintain these as well.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc Physiotherapy MSc or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
- Relevant Post graduate course
- Membership of relevant specialist interest groups
- Member of CSP
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous Post graduate clinical experience
- Broad Range of post graduate clinical experience as a Band 5 in a rotational post
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Supervision and education of less experienced staff, assistants and students
Desirable criteria
- Involvement with audit and research
- Membership of department/Trust groups e.g. Health and Safety
- Previous band 6 experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, carers and colleagues.
