Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Research & Innovation team in a developmental role as a Clinical Trials Co-ordinator to provide comprehensive data and administration support to the Research Practitioners and Research Officers.  The successful candidate will be based within the Research and Innovation department as part of the administration team at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. 

This is a band 4 role under Annex 21 of AFC. Pay is determined as  a percentage of the pay for qualified staff and Annex 21 is applied.  Objectives will be set for completion over a twelve month period and on the job training provided from your colleagues.

The post holder will be based at CCC Wirral but will be expected to travel to Liverpool sites depending on the needs of the service.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide comprehensive administration support to the clinical staff involved in the delivery of Clinical trials.

The role requires the post holder to be self-driven, highly organised and have excellent communication skills. 

Provide up to date complete and accurate data for clinical trials 

Provide effective support to the cancer multi-disciplinary team involved in the recruitment and management of patients.

Liaise with patients, their relatives as well as clinical and administrative teams both within the Trust and tertiary centres to co-ordinate appointments, investigations and treatments.

Supporting the Clinical Research team with all aspects of clinical trials administration, according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies.

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of education to minimum GCSE level or equivalent
  • NVQ/other relevant I.T. training
  • GCP trained
Desirable criteria
  • Science subject GCSE

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated ability of prioritising workload and working to deadlines
  • Experience of working in an NHS hospital Trust
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of working within a clinical trials environment for at least 12-18 months
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in an Oncology environment

Knowledge
